Update: Scenic renamed Riva Waterways to Emerald, more details on their ships and itineraries have been published.

Scenic Tours founded a new company for the European Market. When I read this first I was a bit confused, as Scenic already operates 7 ships in Europe and owns 100% Evergreen Tours. For the last seasons (2012, 2013) Evergreen Tours chartered Lüftner vessels for its cruises, usually the Amadeus Brilliant. Now it looks like as if Scenic is going to expand, using it's own vessels - owned by Riva Waterways.

Moroney is currently building two 182-passenger sister ships—Riva Royale and Riva Princess—at Shipyard De Hoop in the Netherlands for Evergreen Tours, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Scenic Tours.

When complete, each of the ships will measure 135 metres, feature 91 cabins and have capacity to host a total of 180 passengers.

They are going to be more all inclusive like the Scenic ships. Both ships according to Cruise Weekly are going to have a real pool (not just a hot tub) - a feature so far only found on Uniworlds SS Antoinette.

So in short, for the 2014 season there are two more ships in Europe. If anyone is interested, click here for the trademark details.
